Rapid Antigen Testing

Rapid antigen testing involves a quick nasal swab. It works by detecting proteins related to SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

Rapid PCR Testing

Also involving a nasal swab, rapid PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing is recognized as the gold standard of COVID-19 testing and screens for the virus’ genetic material.

Antibody Testing

This type of same-day testing screens for antibodies produced by a past COVID-19 infection in a patient’s blood sample. It does not screen for an active COVID-19 infection.
