Affinity Urgent Care welcomes Dr. James King

Affinity Urgent Care is excited to welcome Dr. James King to the Galveston and Alvin clinic team. Dr. King is board certified in family medicine and geriatrics and has been in practice for 31 years.

Originally from Oklahoma, Dr. King started his career as a private practice physician for 10 years. Shortly after, he became a part of the faculty at the University of Oklahoma - Tulsa. Dr. King and his wife, Becci, moved to Galveston 11 years ago in 2003. They decided to move to Galveston because of their love for the beach. Dr. King also became a UTMB faculty member. Soon after Hurricane Ike hit Galveston Island in 2008, Dr. King taught family medicine in Baytown, Texas. Dr. King has also been a cruise ship physician.

When Dr. King is not at the Affinity Urgent Care clinic in Galveston or Alvin, he is walking on the beach with his wife, fishing or visiting his grandchildren. Dr. King and Becci just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in June.
