Meet The Team

Josh Clark
,
PA

Joshua Clark has spent most of his adult life honoring the skills of Army LDRSHIP (Loyalty, Duty, Responsibility, Honor, Integrity and Personal courage). He enlisted in the Regular Army in May of 2001 and served in various positions before ending his active duty career in Alaska where he transitioned to the Alaska Army National Guard as a medic in 2008.

Joshua attended IPAP at Fort Sam Houston, TX and is a 2016 graduate of the Inter-service Physician Assistant Program (IPAP) through the University of Nebraska. IPAP is the only military PA training institution in the United States. It is designed to prepare graduates for the unique intensity of practicing medicine in a deployment environment providing compassionate care and making calm, accurate decisions under pressure. The credo of discipline, diligence, and adaptability instilled in him through the military prepared him to thrive in the challenging and dynamic role as a PA-C in the Army, and Urgent Care.

Josh enjoys running, playing golf and saltwater aquariums. He lives in League City with his wife and two children.

“I’m about always learning and growing. Giving every attempt to brighten someone else’s day by providing them with the best care possible.”

When I’m not working,  I enjoy spending time with my wife, Dawn, and rescue dog, Taffy, here on Galveston island. I also love traveling and sailing my boat on Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.”

Michelle Hruska

PA

Michelle begun her career caring for patients right after high school when she joined the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. After four years of active duty she continued her service to this country in the active Naval Reserves for six more years. During this time, she earned her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from The College of William and Mary in Virginia. She utilized that degree by working in academic research conducting studies pertaining to fetal alcohol syndrome and cancer. After more than a decade of living abroad and across the United States, she moved back home to Texas to be near family. While taking some time to evaluate her next academic goal, she worked as a critical care tech in a local emergency department to gain even more clinical experience.

She then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and earned her Master ’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2009. After earning her postgraduate degree, she practiced emergency medicine for nearly a decade in the Clear Lake area with the same physician staff that encouraged her to work towards that degree when she was just a tech. Michelle now looks forward to using her knowledge and skills to help care for the patients in the Affinity Urgent Care community.

Michelle currently resides in Galveston, TX. Her hobby is Traveling. Anywhere. Anytime.

“Travel changes you. As you move through life and this world you change things slightly. You leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life – and travel – leaves marks on you.”

Catelyn Knowlton
,
FNP

Catelyn obtained a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. Specializing in family practice, Catelyn has been practicing NP since 2017, where prior to that she worked as an RN since 2012. Catelyn began practicing as an NP in the Emergency department right out of school. She is thankful for her time in the ED although it was very challenging for the three years, she gained irreplaceable knowledge and experience; as well as giving her the confidence to now practice solo in the urgent care setting. She transitioned out of the Emergency department at the beginning of 2021 after a long and tiring year of COVID havoc.

We are so lucky Catelyn was recommended to Affinity by a co-worker who sometimes picked up shifts here. She had her first baby in October and was thankful to have a position to start once her maternity leave ran out. Catelyn has enjoyed having a closer relationship and follow-up with patients in the urgent care setting as well as serving the community which she resides. She feels we do an excellent job of bridging the gap between primary care and emergency room. At Affinity all the advanced practice providers are truly invested in helping manage what we can safely do for our patients.
Catelyn currently resides in Texas and some of her hobbies are working out, being outside, being with family and hosting get-togethers with friends.

Abigail Harang

FNP

Abby began her career in the medical field at a very young age, attending night classes while still in high school and landing her first job as a nurse tech at the age of 16. While working her way through school, Abby worked as an RN in the local emergency department, primarily in pediatric care. This is where she found her passion for the pediatric population and was awarded The Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses and was nationally recognized for the care she provided to pediatric patients and their families. After 10 years of emergency nursing, Abby obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. After a year of working with Covid patients Abby decided to switch to urgent care for a slower pace environment. Which would allow her to build a better relationship with her patients and ability to provide more individualized care, education, and treatment. As a mother of three young daughters, she understands how important a caring family centric provider can be. In her free time Abby likes spending time with her family, cycling and traveling.

"We have a special needs daughter who needed her foot looked at. Thankful that Affinity accepted her Medicaid first of all. Staff was nice, did not have a long wait, doctor was knowledgeable and understanding with our daughter, which means a lot. She was able to get x-rays done on her foot and received the results before we left. A great place to go on short notice."
